Okay, so vacation could have gone better. I was (and still am) sick. However, I did have fun (and I think Sean did as well, despite having a sick girl say, “Could you get me juice/tissue/water?” every other minute).
We didn’t make it to Japan.
We barely made it to Mokpo. After deciding not to stay in one hotel (small, kinda dirty, and Sean pointed out that it appeared that the door had been forced), we opted for the KT Motel. For less than thirty dollars a night, you get a comfortable room, a decent bathroom (no bathtub), and a guy watching the front desk. It’s near the train station, which is an added bonus.
Unfortunately, that was pretty much all we saw of Mokpo. I started getting worse and there really wasn’t much close enough (well, close enough so that I could get to it without
being exhausted), so we headed back home. On the upside, Sean got to ride a high-speed train there and we got to ride a regular train back. (I do not recommend a regular train. Always, always opt for the bullet train.)
So back to Migeum it was. Yeesh. After that, we headed up to Seoul a few times. We went to Gyeongbokgung Palace, which I had wanted to see for a while. I noticed that some of the trees are starting to bud.
We also went to the top of Jongno Tower. We were going to eat at the restaurant but didn’t fell like waiting the two and a half hours it would have taken to get a table.
Sean got to eat a traditional Korean meal. Also known as the “Meal that does not end.” There was an insane amount of food on the table. The woman was laughing at us near the end. She would bring more plates and we would just cringe.

We also did a quick run through Namdaemun Market and saw the gate there.
I think Sean’s favorite discovery was something that wasn’t even Korean. At a Vietnamese restaurant (because I get really sick of eating Korean), I made a point to order the coffee. Vietnamese coffee comes with it’s own mini press on top of each cup. Add that to the fact that there is sweetened and condensed milk at the bottom of each up, and you have a charming, delicious cup of coffee.
The last day of vacation was spent playing computer games and completely relaxing, which was wonderful. Thanks again for coming to visit me. Despite everything, it was an awesome birthday.
I love my new computer. It makes everything so much easier. From skype to email, life is better.
Oh, and if anyone wants my Skype Kansas phone number (you can call me and it will be like calling a number in Kansas), just let me know. All I ask is that you ring me twice. Once doesn’t give me time to get across the room.

All photos should be in the order mentioned.
